Egg for Face and Skin

Eggs are undoubtedly one of the most versatile foods out there. Every part of an egg can be used for something. Egg yolks and egg whites can be used for hair and skin, as they’re mostly proteins. Even egg-shells can be used to ward off snails and slugs off your lawn. The fatty acids present in eggs give excellent conditioning and moisture to your skin and hair. Let’s find out some easy DIYs which are very effective and go easy on your pocket.

Beauty Benefits of Egg White on Face

Egg white benefits for Face

1. Tones Skin

One of the biggest benefits of egg white on the skin is removing dirt and excess oil from the skin. For this, all you need to do is beat the egg whites till they become foamy, put it on the face and let dry. Rinse away with warm water. Use this once or twice a month to enjoy a lighter and much even skin tone.

2. Facial Hair Removal

Egg white is sticky and works almost the same way as wax on hands and legs. Just apply it on the parts where you have facial hair (upper lip, sides of the cheeks) and put a paper towel over it. You could also cover the paper towel with a thin layer of egg white and let it dry completely. Pull it off and get rid of the unwanted facial hair.

3. Fights Oiliness of Skin

Egg whites are very effective in controlling sebum production and close the skin pores. They act as natural astringents and tighten the pores and strip off excess oil from the skin.

4. Removes Tanning

Long-term exposure to UV rays from the sun tans the skin and also cause various other skin-related problems. To take care of this, take 1-2 beaten egg whites and mix in half teaspoon of honey. Leave this paste on for about 15 minutes and rinse away. Repeat this once a week to gradually tone your skin and fight all the existing sun damage.

5. Removes Blemishes

Egg whites can help remove dark spots and blemishes. Club one with one tsp honey and few drops of olive oil. The combined benefits of honey and olive oil will help clear your face out and make skin soft and plump. Egg whites can also effectively remove blackheads by pulling them out from the skin. Using the same method as facial hair removal, you can get rid of the blackheads and whiteheads too (by adding lemon).
